WVDOT Statewide Marketing

Clear View Strategies, working with the members of the West Virginia Public Transportation Association (WVPTA) and the public transit officials at the West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT), developed and implemented a comprehensive, statewide advertising and marketing campaign. Our project team included GBL, Inc., a prominent Pittsburgh-based advertising agency and Spaceboy Interactive, a leading innovator in online marketing and advertising initiatives. Engaged by WVPTA in April 2008, our team developed the advertising and marketing toolkit that is used by every transit system in the state of West Virginia to heighten consumer awareness of the vital role public transit plays in their state. The advertising and marketing toolkit includes multiple print ads and pre-recorded radio spots that can be customized by the local transit providers. A two-minute feature video was developed for use at the local level to tell the broader public transportation story. The project team presented a public speaking and media training workshop at the WVPTA 2008 Annual Meeting and developed an advertising and marketing toolkit to further assist transit system general managers with their local plans. The campaign was launched in November 2008.
