EastSide
EastSide Development is a mixed-use, urban redevelopment project located adjacent to Port Authority's East Busway and transfer facility. Clear View Strategies coordinates the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) components of the project including integrating transit with land use, recommending alternative bus routings, coordinating inter-governmental cooperation and obtaining alternative funding sources. We were able to assist the Developer and City of Pittsburgh in obtaining a $1 million Hometown Streets Safe Routes to School Program grant. Clear View Strategies developed and led the campaign to obtain a $75,000 Land Use Initiatives Planning Program Grant, a $168,500 Business in Our Sites Planning Grant for pre-development activities and a $6.1 million Business in Our Sites Construction Loan/Grant for site assembly and site infrastructure costs. Clear View Strategies also assessed current transit service – 55 bus routes (2,186 daily trips carrying 72,700 riders) – and how to integrate it better with the new development occurring at EastSide and throughout the community.
