Lynn Colosi
Principal
Business Development
Lynn is the driving force of the company; she believed in it, conceived it and continues to steer it. As the visionary, Lynn carved out a role for herself in business development. A tough job in any company, Lynn discovered that Laurie's technical credentials and industry reputation easily drew clients to the firm. While Laurie's technical expertise plays a vital role in client satisfaction, Lynn's friendly face and strong work ethic is what makes clients turn into lifelong friends, as well.
Lynn went to work at Port Authority intending to stay there her entire career. Working for the CEO and Director of Engineering, she was responsible for business development turning Port Authority's assets into revenue producers. She was successful in growing the division and enjoyed interacting with community leaders and officials outside the agency. Eventually, Lynn left Port Authority, one of the largest public sector transit agencies, to work for URS Corporation, the largest private sector engineering firm. Building on an already strong network of business relationships between transit agencies and transportation planners, Lynn realized "I can do this on my own."
In February 2004, Lynn and her partners launched Clear View Strategies, a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Women-owned Business Enterprise (DBE/WBE). URS not only supported her transition, but also became a partner, knowing that they would be dealing with a trustworthy DBE.
While Lynn's friendly disposition is one reason clients enjoy working with Clear View, she drives another core value: hard work. Lynn believes in setting groundwork such as conducting research and getting out in clients' communities with riders, city planners, business people, senior citizens and riders with disabilities. According to Lynn, "The more information you gather, the more the picture begins to paint itself. Finally, you have that moment of clarity and 'wow' the answers become apparent.”
Lynn has a Bachelors degree in journalism/communications from Duquesne University and a Masters in labor relations from St. Francis. Her journalism degree is perhaps what leads her to coin her own words, such as "persistency", referring to consistently and doggedly pursuing solutions to complex problems. And "implementable" – now a guideline in the firm – meaning that every solution Clear View recommends has to be practical and "able to be implemented." All words her clients love to hear.
Lynn is an avid Steelers fan and she also enjoys working out.
"All lasting business is built on friendship."
