Laurie brings a tremendous amount of technical expertise to the table as Principal/Managing Partner. In addition to directing the firm's operations, Laurie also leads route analysis, planning and scheduling projects, and information technology implementations.

With her CEO-drive and focus on the bottom-line, Laurie helps transit agencies assess how effectively they are using their existing resources. Part of her job, she believes, is helping clients navigate through the sales process and ensuring that they make operationally sound and fiscally responsible decisions about what to buy. Her clients also look to her for the managerial tough-mindedness needed to ensure that solutions are implemented.

Laurie does the heavy-lifting necessary to truly understand her audience and her clients' needs. "This is not a cookie-cutter business. We ride every route, talk to staff and drivers, community leaders, employers, chambers of commerce, elected officials, colleges and universities—you name it—to determine the proper solution."

Laurie started her transit career as a management trainee at Port Authority of Allegheny County and as a result, drove a bus, worked in maintenance and many other departments before landing in Operations. She culminated her career as Chief Operations Officer—responsible for bus and light rail operations, 2,500 employees and a $250 million budget.

A significant moment in her career was when she retired; every union officer came to her retirement party. It was then that Laurie realized she had earned the respect of the union even though she frequently sat across the table from them. Her practicality, sense of fairness and mutual respect are qualities that serve her and her clients well.

Laurie believes that you can accomplish anything with the right people on your team. You prove yourself. You can talk all you want but the proof is in your actions.
